The English Country House Tom Duncan Wednesday 06 March 2019

Tom returned after a huguely successful and entertaining lecture on Irish Country Houses. This time he focused for the day on a small number of English houses, chosen to reflect important moments in the evolution of style - e.g.  Hardwick Hall for the Elizabethan, Blenheim Palace for the Baroque, Houghton for the Palladian,  Wilton for the Carolean style of Inigo Jones and so on.

This was a fascinating and entertaining Study Day, well attended and attracting a number of visitors as well as members.

Venue- Monks Yard, Horton Cross Manor, Ilminster
